The Tech Talks are back. Join our next Tech Talk with Prof. Dr. Kirsten Lauber, who will talk about the interesting topic of the „Analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro: The clonogenic assay and the limiting dilution assay”.

The analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro – per se and in response to treatment and/or insults – is of interest in a wide range of disciplines, including preclinical oncology, stem cell research, cell biology, pharmacology, and toxicology. Varying research questions and the heterogeneous growth requirements of individual cell models led to the development of several assay principles and formats that differ with regard to their conceptual setup, 2D or 3D culture conditions, optional cytotoxic treatments, and subsequent data analysis.

In this seminar, the clonogenic assay and the limiting dilution assay will be presented, discussed, and benchmarked with regard to experimental procedures, scoring, and mathematical analysis.
