Join our second DKTK School of Oncology Tech Talk in 2025 with Dr. Phyllis Cheung who will talk about "Therapy-induced dynamics of spatial tumor microenvironment heterogeneity in pancreatic cancer". After her presentation there will be ample opportunity to ask questions to the speaker and to engage in a lively discussion.
Therapeutic resistance in pancreatic cancer emerges not only from tumor-intrinsic mechanisms but also through dynamic interactions within the tumor microenvironment (TME). Increasing evidence indicates that therapy itself reshapes spatial and temporal heterogeneity, driving adaptive responses that sustain resistance. Current work integrates preclinical models and spatial multi-omic approaches to delineate therapy-induced dynamics of the TME, with particular emphasis on the adaptive plasticity of cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) and their influence on tumor phenotypes. Defining these processes provides a framework for identifying mechanisms of resistance and developing more effective therapeutic strategies in pancreatic cancer.
