Dear DKTK Dresden Community,
I am delighted to inform you that on April 27, 2023, the German Cancer Consortium (DKTK), the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE), and the Paul Langerhans Institute Dresden of the German Center for Diabetes Research (PLID-DZD) will host the 5. Joint DZG Symposium Dresden from 1:00-5:15pm, to which we would like to invite you to the conference floor of the BioInnovationsZentrum at Tatzberg 47/49, 01307.
The 5th Joint Dresden DZG Symposium is intended to be an exchange forum for young and established scientists to discuss current research strategies and the state-of-the-art research methods available on our campus. The aim is not only to get to know each other better, but also to learn about the methods and infrastructures available to our community.
Now, the program for our 5. Joint DZG Symposium is finalized and as of today the REGISTRATION IS OPEN! Please take a look at the attached program or check our website for more information --> Website 5th DZG Symposium Dresden
The program in a nutshell
In addition to exciting short talks on DZG-overarching research projects by young DZG scientists selected for funding in a campus-wide call for proposals last year, we are very fortunate to have Prof. Dr. Anthony Hyman (MPI-CBG) as the keynote speaker on The Cell as a Polyphasic System. Moreover, Prof. Dr. Martin Hrabě de Angelis (Helmholtz Munich & DZD Board Member) who is the 2023 Chair of the DZG Steering Committee, will provide us an update on the nationwide DZG activities.
New DZG-overarching project call
Moreover, please think about a project and/or a possible cooperation for the next round of the call for DZG Overarching Projects that will be announced at the meeting. The joint call for DZG-overarching project proposals offers the possibility to apply for start-up finance (max. 10.000 EUR) of innovative joint DZG-projects in translational research in Dresden. To promote new translational activities between the DZGs in Dresden, funds will be awarded for consumables for joint projects for one year. The call will be opened at the symposium and winners will be announced at the end of June 2023.
Additional Scientific Speed Networking
An important goal of the Joint Dresden DZG Symposium is the networking of scientists and researching physicians across disciplines. However, the Corona pandemic has been limiting direct contact with colleagues and scientific partners for month. With the format of an additional Scientific Speed Networking Event (taking place on April 3, 2023) in advance to the DZG-symposium we want to enable a lively and personal virtual exchange. Scientists have the possibility to meet in couples and get five minutes to get to know each other - then it's already the next one's turn. If you are interested, give it a try.
