Dear students, bachelor's and master’s degree candidates, doctoral students,
this March, FameLab returns to the stage – THE competition for scientific communication. But what is FameLab exactly?
True to the motto “Talking Science” scientists from far over 20 countries are given the opportunity to present their research on stage at this event. What’s special? The presentation mustn’t be longer than 3 minutes and has to contain the right amount of science and wit to carry the mostly non-professional audience and an expert panel. Facilities like power point presentations are not allowed. Only requisites that can be worn on the body or that are quickly mounted are allowed.
You are an up-and-coming scientist, engineer, or researcher in STEM-fields? Whether you take an active part in astronomy, biology, biotechnology, chemistry, information technology, mathematics, medicine, pharmacy, physics or robotics: You are excited enough with your field of research that you want to present it on stage? If you want to challenge yourself and if you are at least 21 years old you can register for FameLab at www.famelab-germany.de
Where and When?
In five regional competitions the participants fight for a spot in the Germany finale in Bielefeld. The winners for Baden-Württemberg are elected at the competition in Karlsruhe on the 7th of March 2018.
What else is there along with fame in FameLab?
Besides the prize money of 300€ the winner gets to participate at the Masterclass in Berlin, a renowned communication and media training worth 1.600€. The winner also qualifies for the participation at the FameLab Germany Finale in Bielefeld and has the chance to make it to the international contest at the Cheltenham Science Festival in Great Britain.

2. Prize: 200 € + Masterclass + participation at FameLab Germany finale in Bielefeld
Audience Prize: "NewScientist" Magazine Subscription (12 issues)
Every participant is reimbursed for his or her travel and accommodation expenses.
