This symposium has a more than 40-year tradition and is considered as one of the most valuable meetings in acute leukemias. The symposium offers the chance to contribute your own scientific abstract, highlighting your most recent findings and updates.

The symposium is taking place under the new chairmanship of Karsten Spiekermann and Klaus Metzeler together with our honorary chairman, Wolfgang Hiddemann, in-person only, and is addressing all healthcare professionals active in the field of acute leukemias.

The focus of the symposium will be on the following key areas:

  • Biology of Acute Leukemias
  • Genetic and Molecular Characterization of AML
  • Novel Markers for Diagnosis and Prognosis
  • Novel Approaches and Targeted Therapies in AML
  • Risk-adapted Therapy of AML and APL
  • MRD in Acute Leukemias: Methods and Clinical Applications
  • Immunotherapy for Acute Leukemias, including Transplantation
  • ALL: Biology and Treatment Strategies

These areas will be covered by invited speakers representing the leading institutions and research groups around the world. As always, there will be no parallel sessions, ensuring participants can attend all lectures without overlap.

Satellite Symposia and Meet-the-Expert Sessions will provide additional opportunities to discuss advances and perspectives of basic science and new treatment strategies.

Two sessions for unsolicited abstracts– a poster session and an oral session showcasing the best submitted abstracts (“Best of Free Contributions”) – will additionally allow all participants to present their own research data and discuss their findings with the most renowned scientists and researchers in the field of acute leukemias worldwide.
