FCI Perspective Lecture: Metabolism – The new frontier in cancer precision medicine (Alpaslan Tasdogan)

Prof. Tasdogan is an attending physician in the Department of Dermatology at the University Hospital Essen, where he also serves as Head of the Institute for Tumor Metabolism.

His research group investigates metabolic adaptations occurring during melanoma metastasis across various cancer models, including patient-derived samples. His work employs multiple state-of-the-art analytical platforms, such as gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS), liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC-MS), spatial metabolomics, and stable isotope tracing.
