Academic Afternoon at DKFZ

Many early career researchers at DKFZ consider a career in academia. At the same time, we face uncertainty about how academic careers develop and what the concrete steps after the PhD or Postdoc look like. With this event, the DJFZ aims to contribute to greater transparency about academic career paths and to support and encourage young scientists who wish to pursue an academic career.

While the event is primarily designed for postdoctoral and doctoral “early career researchers” (ECRs), it also offers valuable perspectives for (junior) group leaders and professors who mentor, recruit, and support academic career development. 

The event concludes with a panel discussion on "Uncertainty in Academia" with Helke Hillebrand (Graduate Academy, University of Heidelberg).
