DKTK Tech Talks – Bridging Techniques and Translation

The Tech Talks are an online seminar series established in 2021 by the German Cancer Consortium (DKTK) and organized by the DKTK School of Oncology. The series focuses on modern techniques in translational cancer research and their clinical relevance. DKTK scientists – in some cases presenting in tandem with clinical colleagues – introduce methodological approaches and illustrate their significance for bridging the gap between laboratory research and patient care. The series is primarily aimed at early-career researchers across the entire DKTK network and offers opportunities for cross-site professional development and networking.
The Tech Talks are held via Zoom and typically last one hour. Approximately 30–40 minutes are dedicated to the presentation, with the remaining time reserved for open discussion and direct exchange with the speakers. The format therefore provides not only state-of-the-art scientific input but also space for interactive questions and professional dialogue.
For early-career researchers, the Tech Talks offer a valuable opportunity to deepen their understanding of methodological approaches, expand their knowledge of current technologies, and contextualize their clinical relevance within the translational research framework. The interactive nature of the series fosters direct exchange with experts and enables participants to further develop their own research ideas, engage with emerging methodological developments, and build both professional and personal networks.
