Guido Reifenberger is one of the world’s top neuropathologists. His research work focuses on identifying the molecular causes of brain tumors in children and adults and has played a key role in molecular classification and the development of targeted treatments for gliomas ─ brain tumors that arise from glial cells, which support the nervous system. Reifenberger is also involved in identifying and assessing new molecular markers for brain metastases, and identifying characteristic biomarkers for long-term survival in patients with glioblastoma.
