DKTK Berlin Symposium 2026: Exchange and new Impulses

The Berlin DKTK Community Meeting took place on January 27, 2026 at the Rahel Hirsch Center for translational medicine in Berlin-Mitte. Approximately 120 scientists and doctors came together to discuss the newest developments and ongoing science projects in translational research at the site.

The focus was on scientific presentations in the fields of cancer immunotherapy, functional oncology, and molecular diagnostics and biomarker development. In addition, innovative cross-site DKTK Joint Funding projects were presented, which promote collaboration within the national consortium.

A particular highlight was the keynote lecture by the spokespersons of the ImmunoPreCept Cluster of Excellence, Prof. Britta Siegmund and Prof. Andreas Diefenbach. The cluster is dedicated to researching the interface between health and disease, with a focus on cell-based molecular prevention and interceptive medicine.

Against the backdrop of the DKTK’s new strategy, four Concept Research Areas — Cancer Liquid Biopsy, Single-Cell & Spatial Technologies, Cancer Immunopeptidomics & T-Cell Engineering, and Cancer Proteomics — were also introduced, along with the participating research groups. These are intended to serve as a platform in the future for the targeted expansion of collaborative and study-supporting projects and for further deepening cooperation with the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT).
